The BISB-PA is a registered, non-profit organization, managed by an elected Executive Board, consisting of 10 Committee Chairs. By-laws are available upon request from the BISB-PA president.

Committee

Chairs

The President presides over all meetings and serves as the primary contact between the PA and the school. Oversees the work of the EB to ensure compliance with the BISB-PA by-laws and the furtherance of our mission. Delegate duties to other EB members as needed.
The Vice President assists the President and carries out the President’s duties in his or her absence or inability to serve. The Vice President also oversees the committees of the PA and prepares a meeting calendar for the year.
The Treasurer maintains and keeps all records of the BISB-PA; responsible for accurately administering the financial assets and liabilities of the BISB-PA and preparing the necessary yearly accounting documents; pays out funds in accordance with the approval of the EB and presents financial statements to the EB when requested.
The Communication Chair oversees the look and content of all BISB-PA electronic and printed materials and responsible for the marketing and publication of all BISB-PA events and assists with the creation and maintenance of a BISB-PA website.
The Social Events Chair oversees the planning and marketing of social events throughout the calendar year, together with the social committee, to help further the goals of the PA.
The Welcome/New Families Chair works with the BISB admissions team, and new families committee, to welcome new families into the school, introduce them to the BISB-PA and be a resource to help them assimilate and engage with the school.
The Early Years School Chair acts as the liaison between the Early Years Class Representatives and the EB. Also organizes and chairs the Early Years Class Representative / Parent Committee meetings when required.
The Lower School Chair acts as the liaison between the Lower School Class Representatives and the EB. Also organizes and chairs the Lower Class Representative/ Parent Committee meetings when required.
The Middle School Chair acts as the liaison between the Middle School Classes and the EB. Also organizes and chairs the Middle School Class Representative / Parent Committee meetings when required.
The High School Chair acts as the liaison between the High School Classes and the EB. Also organizes and chairs the High School Class Representative / Parent Committee meetings when required.

Non Board

Roles & Positions

Be part of a committee working with the PA’s Social Events Chair and other parents to help plan and run PA events throughout the year. Meetings to be held once a term at minimum, or as required.
Be part of a committee working with the PA’s Welcome/New Families Chair and other parents to help welcome new families to the BISB community. This could include organizing group social events, meet and greets with existing and new parents/families, and help them assimilate and engage with the school.
Provide communication support between class teachers and the class parent group. Liaise and meet with the class teachers to identify areas of parental support and methods of communication as needed. Liaise with the PA Early Years/Lower/Middle/High School Chairs regarding general school feedback, concerns or questions. (Please note; academic and/or disciplinary related issues are not for the Class Reps or the PA and should be raised by the relevant parent with the appropriate member of the school staff directly). Support PA activities eg: staff appreciation, social events, welcome new families, identify volunteers for school events and activities. Encourage and/or facilitate student and parent social events/activities during the academic year.
